Designed to seat three people, vertically, the title "Ceiling-Scraper Chair" is a play on the word skyscraper, which refers to a building that scrapes the sky. The charred maple makes up the linearity and structural composition of the seating unit. Meanwhile, the cowhide monoliths balance the wood with softer senses and create transitions in between the seating levels.
